おもしろいですね。

(1)Do you have the time? = なんじですか?
(2)Do you have time? = じかんがありますか?

These two expressions are totally different. (2) is asking you if you are available now.

Not many women ask me the time because, I think, they have a watch. So, if they ask me if I have time (if I'm available now), I would think that they want to sell something or they are going to talk about a religion, etc.

So, sometimes, you need to say directly.
